June 25, 2019 – Short post today. Our second day in Logroño was a total catch up day for me. There was much to do including super fun laundry, catching up on emails, bills, messages, blog writing, etc. Plus, a headache was involved, so that was not fun. I rested and got my things done.
Wayne was up and out early in the morning to explore the town a bit and see some of the sights. The highlight of the 2.1 mile walk was Iglesia de Santiago. The Church of Santiago (St. James) was built during the 16th century and then enlarged in the 17th century including the addition of the doorway. The Renaissance facade is crowned by the impressive figure of St. James. Also worthy of special attention is the main alter piece dating to the mid-1600’s.
It was a quiet day, nice dinner and Wayne worked.
